Unveiling the True Impact of Vaccination

Recent studies from the Commonwealth Fund, authored by Meagan C. Fitzpatrick, PhD, of CVD, underscore the monumental achievements made possible by vaccine trials. From December 2020 to November 2022, the U.S. COVID-19 vaccination program prevented over 18.5 million hospitalizations and 3.2 million deaths, averting nearly 120 million infections, thus saving the nation $1.15 trillion in medical costs. These staggering figures illuminate the indispensable role played by volunteers in advancing public health endeavors.

A Vital Call to Action

In recognizing the transformative impact of vaccination efforts, we implore the Baltimore community and beyond to stand alongside us. By participating in clinical trials, you contribute to the creation of lifesaving vaccines and shape the future of global health.
