The two UMSON leaders met with Congressman Kweisi Mfume.
On Feb. 4, Yolanda Ogbolu, PhD ’11, MS ’05, BSN ’04, NNP, FNAP, FAAN, the Bill and Joanne Conway Dean of the University of Maryland School of Nursing, and Yvette Conyers, DNP, MS, RN, FNP-C, CTN-B, CFCN, CFCS, CNE, assistant professor and associate dean for equity, diversity, and inclusion, met with Congressman Kweisi Mfume, representative for Maryland's 7th congressional district (almost the entire city of Baltimore and some of Baltimore County), to advocate for health equity and discuss important issues affecting African-American communities during the 36th Annual National Black Nurses Day on Capitol Hill.
