The inaugural SSW Professional Development Day for staff and faculty, held on May 29, was a resounding success, bringing together colleagues from across the School of Social Work for a full day of learning, growth, and meaningful connection. The event, hosted in the SSW Auditorium, featured a thoughtfully curated agenda that included workshops on career development, leadership, workplace culture, and strategies for fostering a more accessible and inclusive environment. Attendees were able to choose from a variety of breakout sessions tailored to their interests, ensuring a highly personalized and engaging experience.

The morning began with welcoming remarks that set an enthusiastic tone for the day, followed by concurrent sessions on leadership and career advancement. Participants explored effective team management and strategies to cultivate a collaborative workplace, gaining practical tools to support their professional journeys. The mid-morning Access & Culture workshops focused on intercultural communication and universal design, equipping staff and faculty with actionable insights for building a more supportive and accessible community.

After a networking lunch, the afternoon featured mini-sessions and skill-building workshops focused on topics such as managing a multigenerational workforce and mastering the art of constructive feedback. These sessions not only enhanced individual competencies but also fostered a spirit of collaboration and continuous improvement among colleagues.
