Default Settings in Duo
June 24, 2020 Tram NguyenIn the Duo multi-factor authentication app, you have the option to choose your default device and authentication method.
If you have default settings set up in Duo, the “Remember me for 7 days” check box will be automatically grayed out and unavailable.
Follow these directions to change that:
1. Open up Duo’s Authentication Page. You can get here in one of two ways:
- When you are logging into a UMB-specific page.
- The account management site at https://directory.umaryland.edu/.
2. Once on this page, choose “My Settings and Device” on the left side (it will ask you to authenticate via Duo).
3. It will bring you to a new page that will list all the devices you have registered to Duo.
- Select the device you would like to use as your default, click the drop-down menu next to it, and select the default Duo notification you would like to receive for this device.
- Click “Save.”
4. Once you have a default device set up:
- If you would like to cancel the default device for this login, you can click “Cancel” on the bottom right-hand corner.
- You can then select a different Duo device, and/or select “Remember me for 7 days.”
