UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell will be joined by other experts to answer questions about the safety of and the science behind the vaccines. The event will be held in person and via webcast.


Join University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, for a town hall on July 15 at 1:30 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 vaccines. Our experts will be available to answer questions about the safety of the vaccines and the science behind them, as well as other related concerns.

The experts are:
  • Matthew Laurens, MD, MPH, a pediatric infectious disease specialist who conducts research with the University of Maryland School of Medicine's (UMSOM) Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health.
  • Sarah Edwards, DO, assistant professor of psychiatry, UMSOM, who is a co-investigator for UMB's Health Resources and Services Administration grant focused on public perceptions and attitudes about vaccines.
The event will take place in person in the Health Sciences Research Facility II auditorium (20 Penn St.) and will be available virtually via webcast and livestreamed on UMB’s Facebook page.
