It is the end of March, which means March Madness and the NCAA men’s basketball tournament is in full swing! For many that means hours of intense basketball games, blown brackets, and heartache. For the Historical Collections Department of the Health Sciences and Human Services Library, it means another look at a piece of UMB history.
UMB no longer has official sports teams but at one time it did, including football, baseball, and hockey teams. Our newest blog post on HSHSL Updates showcases the 1904-'05 inaugural and championship basketball team. The team defeated rival Johns Hopkins University to take the championship in March 1905.
