handmade thank you card using crayons

The list of essential employees working in the UMB community during the COVID-19 crisis is long. Help us share our thanks.

The list of front-line heroes working in the UMB community is long, and it includes many people working every day to keep the hospitals and schools in the University of Maryland system equipped to save lives and continue research.

During the COVID-19 crisis, many of these workers often do not have protective gear to wear, and they must leave their families at home to go to work. Essential employees also continue to keep buildings functional, streets safe, garages operational, elevators working, plumbing operational ... the list goes on.

With this responsibility comes the threat of contracting the sometimes deadly virus — a fear consistently foremost in the minds of employees and their families.

To thank these essential workers, we're asking the UMB community to show it cares by having your children or yourself create a virtual thank you card.

To help prevent the spread of germs, email a picture of your card(s) to cards@umaryland.edu and we will compile the photos into a thank you video for UMB and UMMC staff.

It's easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Create your thank you card
  2. Snap a photo
  3. Email it to us right from your phone
