We need members of the UMB, VA Medical Center, and UMMC communities to email the MTA and lobby for restoring a stop closer to our campus.

As a longtime Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) commuter bus rider, I know the incredible convenience this service provides to those employees who commute from the surrounding counties to the UMB campus. We save time, money, and wear and tear on our vehicles and can enjoy a twice-daily opportunity to read or listen to music or podcasts while someone else worries about the road.

The UMB community previously had an MTA commuter bus stop from Harford County on campus, but it was moved several years ago to Camden Yards. We now have an opportunity to advocate for the return of an MTA commuter bus stop to the UMB campus. The MTA is investigating adding a UMB stop to the 410 and/or 411 commuter bus out of Harford County. We need your help to make this convenience a reality.

Please email the MTA’s James Authenreath, acting director of commuter buses, at the link below to let him know that you want the stop added to our campus. Spread the word to everyone. He needs to hear from anyone who would directly benefit from this, including employees at the Baltimore VA Medical Center and University of Maryland Medical Center.

The more people who reach out about how this will benefit them, the better our chances are to secure this much-needed stop!
