Blair Davis, MSW, LMSW of the B'more for Healthy Babies @ the Center for Restorative Change presented at the CityMatCH Conference

Blair Davis, LMSW, presented “Pandemic Pivots to Support Attachment, Development, and Early Learning in Baltimore”, which highlighted the work of the B'more for Healthy Babies and the Early Learning team’s work to support the early development, kindergarten readiness, and attachment bonds of families living in Upton and Druid Heights, which were significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic created new challenges while exacerbating existing barriers to early childhood socioemotional development and kindergarten readiness. Ms. Davis shared strategies and examples created by Community Health Workers, Social Workers, and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants implemented into evidence-based parenting groups and workshops to support caregivers in building secure attachment bonds, utilizing safe parenting skills, and implementing strategies to support the development and early education of young learners.  #UMSSWResearch
