Carey Martin completes the Professional Leadership Program for Women.

Carey A. Martin, MA, MBA, business operations administrator, University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Program in Comparative Medicine and Veterinary Resources, and adjunct assistant professor, University of Maryland Graduate School, has completed the Professional Leadership Program for Women, a signature program of Towson University’s Dr. Nancy Grasmick Leadership Institute.

This professional development program is dedicated to expanding the positive impact of women leaders. The Dr. Nancy Grasmick Leadership Institute honored 32 women who completed the program on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Towson University. This was the ninth cohort of the leadership program.

The transformative program enables both professional and personal growth through cohort-based learning. During the four-month-long program, participants dedicate one day every two weeks to gain new insights, added self-confidence, and the capacity to immediately impact their organizations and communities in powerful, positive ways. The program is application-based to ensure a diverse group of high-potential women in the program.

The program is a trusted resource, used by many of Greater Baltimore’s leading organizations to develop rising female leaders. It attracts women from across industry, government, and nonprofit sectors serving in a wide array of capacities within their organizations.

“This program is incredibly unique, and the women who participate are transformed throughout the process,” said Erin Moran, executive director of the Dr. Nancy Grasmick Leadership Institute. “Their capacity for leadership and influence is expanded and continues to expand throughout their leadership journeys as a result of the skills and relationships that they develop.”

The Professional Leadership Program for Women is designed for women who are committed to increasing their capacity for leadership and influence. The first cohort graduated in 2015, and the program’s alumni network now includes a diverse group of 223 women leaders from Greater Baltimore representing corporate, government, military, education, and nonprofit sectors.
