Crumpton Presents Myanmar Research to USIP Group in Bangkok

On November 13, 2023 adjunct faculty member Dr. David Crumpton represented research from the Myanmar Advocacy Research Group (MARG) to the United States Institute of Peace's (USIP) Myanmar local governance group in Bangkok, Thailand.

Dr. Crumpton helped to organize and serves as adviser to MARG. Dr. Crumpton's presentation to the USIP group involved MARG's report on its research titled, "Initiating a Deliberative Democracy Process: Evidence from Myanmar Migrants and Refugees in Thailand on Governance and Transitional Justice." The evidence in this report was collected through focus group discussions, open forums, and a survey conducted in 2022. MSW student Priya Bhayana served as a research analyst for the project. Dr. Crumpton is assisting USIP in organizing rapid needs assessment responses for communities in Myanmar as they are liberated from control by the military junta.
