DNP student selected to deliver podium presentation at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Patient Safety Congress.


Kate Heacock, BSN, RN, CCRN, student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist specialty, has been selected to deliver a 60-minute podium presentation of her DNP project, "Joy in Work and Leader Rounding: Facilitating Relationships and Resolving Workforce Concerns," to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Patient Safety Congress in May in National Harbor, Maryland.

The purpose of this quality improvement project is to redesign senior leader rounding to balance health care worker resources with demands by adopting the Framework for Improving Joy in Work as the foundational approach to rounding, streamlining concern resolution, and promoting existing reporting structures.
