Office of Community Engagement Staff Member Co-Authors Article Published in ‘Metropolitan Universities’


Lisa Rawlings, MBA, director of UMB Workforce Initiatives and staff member in the Office of Community Engagement, is among the co-authors of “Toward a Research and Practice Agenda for Evaluation in Community-Campus Partnerships,” which was published in the most recent issue of Metropolitan Universities.

The research identifies six promising directions for research and practice on evaluation of community-university partnerships:

  • Evaluating systemic racism
  • Community-driven evaluation
  • Community impact and benefit
  • Evaluating relationships,
  • Alignment of stakeholders
  • Blended approaches

The findings stem from a collaboration of participants in the Coalition of Urban & Metropolitan Universities Community Evaluation Huddle and recognizes the growing need to document the positive impacts of these community-campus partnerships.
