Assistant professor honored with USG Kendall Service Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Nicole E. Smith, PhD, MS '14, RN, CNE, CHSE, CNE-cl, assistant professor, has been named the recipient of the 2023 Kendall Service Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG).
Former University System of Maryland regent and former USG Board of Advisors member Cliff Kendall and his wife, Camille, established annual awards that recognize faculty, program leaders, and staff who have provided outstanding support to students, as well as staff who have demonstrated exemplary service to the USG community.
The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes a faculty member who:
- demonstrates commitment to student success through fostering of high academic achievement
- engages students in active participation in learning and achieving their academic goals
- advances the educational and career goals of students.
