PhD students present at conferences.


Several UMSON PhD students recently presented at two conferences.  

Douglas Gyamfi, BSN, RGN, received the Best Poster Presentation Award for “Organizational Justice Impacts Mood Symptoms Among Long-term Care Workers” at the Mid-Atlantic Medical Directors Association Mid-Atlantic Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine Annual Conference in Rockville, Maryland on Nov. 16.  

At the same conference, Abaneh Ebangwese, BSN ’15, RN, CCRN, was awarded Second Place Poster Presentation for “Cardiovascular Health and Behavioral Risk Factors in Long-Term Care Workers: A Descriptive Analysis.” 

Elisha Oduro, BSN, RN, presented two posters, “Outcomes of a Palliative Care Intervention for Adults with Dementia in Skilled Nursing Facilities,” and “A Framework for Understanding Palliative Care Preferences Among African American Patients with Cancer: The 6S Model” at the Gerontological Society of America 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting in Seattle, Nov. 13 - 16. 

At the same conference, Sorah Levy, MSN ’ 22, RN, RAC-CT, also presented a symposium paper, “Are Federal Guidelines Helping to Improve Pain Assessment, Diagnosis, and Management in Nursing Homes?” and the symposium paper, “Nursing Home Quality Rating Associations With Pain in Nursing Home Residents With Dementia.”
