Westgate Serves as Keynote Speaker for NASW-Maine's Annual Conference.

Lee Westgate, MSW, MBA, LCSW-C (he/ him) served as the opening keynote speaker for NASW Maine's annual conference attended by 450 social workers from Maine and the surrounding region. His presentation entitled "Let Them Be Their Truth: Raising Remarkable Children in a World Without Enemies," explored the current context of socio-political conflict and division, censorship, as well as the rise of state-sanctioned infringements on the freedom of speech - and how these coordinated efforts impact the human rights and well-being of children.

Westgate's keynote emphasized social work exemplars of political engagement, action, and change as they pertain to the profession's ethical calling to protect the human rights and freedoms of children.
