Administrative specialist one of six finalists for 2024 Admin Awards Leadership Award.
Terria McClain, MBA, administrative specialist in the Department of Family and Community Health, was nominated for the 2024 Admin Awards for the Washington, D.C., and Mid-Atlantic Region, with the theme "Good as Gold." The Awards Gala took place Aug. 16 at the Waldorf Astoria Washington DC hotel. The Admin Awards recognize exceptional administrative professionals and are considered the highest honor in the field.
McClain was one of six finalists for the Leadership Award. Although she didn’t win, it was an incredible experience to be nominated and to have her leadership efforts acknowledged. She was initially nominated by Sheree Singleton in the School of Dentistry; Meagan Meadow, BS, manager of facility and operations; and her supervisor, Gretchen Swimmer, MBA, director of business operations for the Department of Family and Community Health. As part of the process, McClain also submitted a personal statement on her leadership journey.
