UMSON faculty receive Dean's Teaching Scholars awards for 2024 - 2025.


Five UMSON faculty have been granted Dean's Teaching Scholars Awards for 2024 - 2025. These $5,000 awards provide support for faculty facilitating or developing research/projects that enhance nursing education and/or extend the evidence base for teaching and learning.  The faculty and projects are:

  • Samantha Hoffman, DNP '23, MS '16, CPNP-PC, assistant professor, and Taylor Swing, DNP '18, BSN '13, CPNP-PC, assistant professor – Inspi’RN’ing: Pilot Pediatric Mentorship Program for Entry to Practice RNs
  • Jacquelyn Ryer, DNP, AG-ACNP, clinical instructor – A Peer Support Pilot Program for AG-ACNP/CNS Students
  • Michelle Spencer, DNP '19, MS '06, BSN '84,RN, assistant professor, and Yvette Conyers, DNP, RN, FNP-C, CTN-B, CFCN, CFCS, CNE, FADLN, CWCN-AP, assistant professor and associate dean for equity, diversity, and inclusion  – Discovery and Application of Health Equity Through Community Engagement, Art, and Inclusive Conversations: A BSN Competency-Based Education Pilot
