At the invitation of Elizabeth Galik, PhD '07, CRNP, FAAN, FAANP, professor and chair of the Department Organizational Systems and Adult and editor-in-chief of the Caring for the Ages journal, Ameera Chakravarthy, PhD '22, RN, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, assistant professor and director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specialty, authored an article and was a guest on the PALTtalk with Caring podcast to discuss strategies for managing sarcopenia in older adults. Sarcopenia is a progressive, generalized loss of skeletal muscle mass and a decline in function with increasing age.
