Dr. Christabel Cheung Named Salzburg Global Fellow in Health & Health Care Innovation.

Dr. Christabel Cheung, Associate Professor, was selected as a Salzburg Global Fellow and joined 50 international leaders in Health & Health Care Innovation for the Salzburg Global Transforming Information Pathways for Health, Well-Being, and Equity convening in Salzburg, Austria. Her participation was generously supported by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

As a Salzburg Global Fellow, Dr. Cheung contributed to multidisciplinary dialogue on transforming health systems and advancing equity-centered innovation. Following the convening, she collaborated on the launch of a new global working group with a subset of fellows dedicated to disrupting the “doom loop” affecting health data systems, a self-reinforcing dynamic in which escalating costs coincide with worsening health outcomes. The group aims to advance research and practice strategies that promote equitable, accountable, and sustainable data infrastructures.
