Daniel J. Morgan, professor of epidemiology and medicine and director of the Center for Innovation in Diagnosis, University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), had the honor of serving as the keynote speaker at the highly anticipated kickoff event in Singapore for a new campaign aimed at promoting Appropriate and Value-Based Care on Nov. 21.
The campaign, initiated by the Singapore Ministry of Health — recognized globally for its commitment to excellence in health care — focuses on fostering appropriate care delivery, enhancing value in health care services, driving quality improvements, and prioritizing patient-centered measures that enhance the overall experience and outcomes for patients.
Beyond the kickoff event, Morgan dedicated the week to his role as a visiting professor at the National University of Singapore. During this time, he engaged in meaningful discussions and explored exciting opportunities for collaboration between Singapore's academic community and UMSOM, particularly in the vital fields of epidemiology, public health, and infectious diseases.
