Response to: Loneliness and Cognitive Function in Older Adults Living in Latin America: A Systematic Review
The article explores the unique challenges faced by Latino caregivers of family members with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease (EOAD), focusing on those with inherited forms of the illness. It highlights the compounded caregiving burdens, including managing care for both affected relatives and young children, financial strain, emotional stress, and concerns about inheriting the disease. The study emphasizes a significant lack of culturally appropriate, bilingual resources and support services. It calls for tailored educational programs and psychosocial support to help these caregivers build resilience, reduce stigma, and improve their overall well-being.
