Dr. Jodi Frey speaks on men's mental well-being panel for Families for Depression Awareness.

Dr. Jodi Frey, Professor and Associate Dean for Research at the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Founder and Faculty Executive Director of the Center for Behavioral Health & Well-Being Research, served as an expert panelist in a powerful discussion hosted by Families for Depression Awareness. This event, "How Families Can Support Men's Mental Well-Being," focused on breaking the silence around men’s mental health, a topic often overshadowed by societal expectations to “stay strong” and “keep it together.”

The panel explored practical strategies for supporting men without judgment or pressure, helping loved ones recognize signs of struggle, and creating safe spaces where vulnerability is seen as strength. Dr. Frey’s expertise in workplace mental health and suicide prevention added valuable depth to this conversation, reinforcing the importance of compassionate, evidence-based approaches to mental health.
