Maria Robinson, DNP '22, MS '11, BSN '07, RN, assistant professor, started a two-year term as president of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses DC Metro Chapter, which includes Washington, D.C.; Maryland; and Virginia, on Jan. 1, 2025.

As president, Robinson’s goal is to further the mission and values of the DC Metro Chapter. Her passion lies in improving the health and well-being of the Latino community by advocating for diversity, inclusion, and culturally competent care across health care settings. She aims to provide nurses and nursing students with the professional development, networking, and educational opportunities necessary to thrive in an ever-changing health care environment. As the Latino population continues to grow in the United States, Robinson's work becomes even more critical in ensuring health care that is not only clinically effective but also culturally sensitive and linguistically accessible.
