Rebecca N. Weston, EdD, MSN, RN, CNE, assistant professor, Universities at Shady Grove (USG), and Samantha Fuld, DSW, MSW, LCSW-C, clinical assistant professor from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, and their team were selected to present at the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) 2025 Annual Conference June 24 in Arlington, Virginia.
On behalf of their team (Patricia Schaefer, DNP, RN, CNE-cl, CHSE, CNE, simulation lab director, USG, and several members of Special Olympics Maryland’s Healthy Athletes program), Fuld and Weston presented on “Inclusive Healthcare Education: Curricular Strategies for Preparing Students to Provide Affirming Accessible Care for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities,” highlighting the work of University of Maryland, Baltimore schools.
This was AAIDD’s 149th annual conference, providing a forum for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to come together to explore opportunities, strategies, and challenges related to mentorship, access, equity, collaboration, and advancing outcomes in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
