Assistant professor presents National Hartford Center for Gerontological Nursing Excellence fireside chat.


Sarah Holmes, PhD, MSW, assistant professor, will present her work about “Optimizing Meaningful Activity for Persons with Dementia” at the virtual National Hartford Center for Gerontological Nursing Excellence Fireside Chat on June 18. 

Holmes specializes in long-term care services and quality of life for older adults. Her research focuses on developing and testing interventions for improving the care environments in long-term care settings to optimize quality of life and increase opportunities for meaningful activity among residents with dementia. She also practices on an interdisciplinary wellness clinic team serving low-income senior housing communities in the greater Baltimore area to increase access to care and promote the health and well-being of residents.
