Twelve Bachelor of Science in Nursing December 2025 graduates accepted into National Student Nurses' Association Honor Society.
Twelve University of Maryland Association of Nursing Students (UMANS) board members from the 2025 graduating class were accepted into Leadership U, the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) Honor Society. The students pictured are proudly wearing their NSNA cord at UMSON's December 2025 Graduation.
The students were inducted into the honor society for participating in leadership activities in UMANS in the University of Maryland School of Nursing Universities at Shady Grove (USG) chapter of NSNA.
The goal of the honor society is to prepare future nurse leaders. As students transition to their roles as registered nurses, they will be prepared to participate in shared governance as well as in professional nursing and community organizations.
Being a UMANS board member provides students with an opportunity to hone their leadership skills and make an impact on the nursing school community and the USG community at large. All 12 students are members of NSNA and were nominated by their faculty advisor for holding a UMANS board member position for at least one semester, although many held positions for more than one semester.
