A number of UMSON faculty and students attended and presented at the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) 51st Annual Conference in Denver, April 9 - 13.

Podium Presentations

  • Shannon K. Idzik, DNP ’10, MS ’03, CRNP, ANP-BC, FAANP, FAAN, professor and associate dean for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, serves as president of NONPF and provided an address on April 10.
  • Ameera Chakravarthy, PhD ’22, RN, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, assistant professor and director of the DNP Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specialty, presented on "Innovating Nurse Practitioner Education: Integrating Health Campaigns into Competency-Based Learning."
  • Caitlin Donis, PhD, MS ’13, AG-ACNP, ACCNS-AG, assistant professor, presented on "Unlocking the Essentials: Engaging AGACNP Students in Competency-Based Activities" (with Jacquelyn Ryer).
  • Bridgitte Gourley, DNP ’08, FNP-BC, FACU, FNAP, associate professor; director of the DNP Family Nurse Practitioner specialty; and co-director of the University of Maryland, Baltimore Center for Interprofessional Education, presented on "Crosswalk Accreditation Requirements for IPE Competencies: Making the Case for Working Together" (authors were Gourley, Heather Congdon, Idzik, and Deborah Miller-Young).
  • Amanda Roesch, DNP, MPH, FNP-C, assistant professor, and Catherine Hood, DNP ’18, FNP-C, assistant professor, presented on "Integrating Health Policy into NP Education: Addressing Abortion and Gender-Affirming Care Laws."
