Victoria Meadows, MS

Assistant director of UMB’s Enterprise Risk Management program receives URMIA’s 2025 Emerging Risk Professional Award.

The University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA) honored Victoria Meadows, MS, assistant director, Enterprise Risk Management program, University of Maryland, Baltimore, as a 2025 Emerging Risk Professional on Oct. 14 at its annual conference.

This award was designed to honor URMIA members serving in the early stages of a higher education risk management career and having already contributed to and impacted the organization. Meadows joined URMIA in 2022 and didn’t waste any time contributing to the association. She joined the planning committee for the 2023 annual conference, which took place in her hometown of Baltimore. She coordinated many special moments during the Baltimore and New Orleans conferences with animal friends helping provide some levity to the program topics. In addition to her work with the conferences, Meadows has contributed much on the topic of enterprise risk management for the URMIA community through webinar presentations as well as online discussions.

Founded in 1969, URMIA is the premier professional association dedicated to promoting the advancement of higher education risk management principles and best practices. URMIA serves as an educational resource to an international community of more than 3,100 professionals at nearly 900 institutions of higher learning, and more than 140 affiliate companies and partner organizations that serve the needs of higher education risk management.
