Geoffrey Greif, Victoria Stubbs and Michael Woolley

Geoffrey L. Greif, Victoria D. Stubbs, and Michael E. Woolley examine how interracial couples build love across cultural lines in their new book.

Interracial Marriage: How Diverse Couples Navigate Relationships in a Divided Time

In this new book, Greif, Stubbs, and Woolley draw on interviews and surveys with hundreds of people, along with their decades of combined experience as therapists and researchers, to explore how intermarried couples create meaningful lives together. Participants share honest and often moving accounts of what it means to love and parent across lines of race and culture—from negotiating family expectations to confronting societal bias.

Through these conversations, the authors reveal not only the challenges these couples face but also the powerful lessons they offer about communication, empathy, and unity. The book provides both practical insights and hopeful perspectives on how relationships grounded in understanding can serve as models for bridging divides in today’s America.
