Barbara Resnick

Professor and associate dean for research honored at UMMC's Nurses Week event.


Barbara Resnick, PhD '96, RN, CRNP, FAAN, FAANP, professor, associate dean for research, and Sonya Ziporkin Gershowitz Chair in Gerontology, was honored as the University of Maryland School of Nursing Colleague Award recipient during the University of Maryland Medical Center's (UMMC) National Nurses Week event, held May 8. Resnick was recognized as an extraordinary partner to UMMC.

The event narrative read, "Dr. Barbara Resnick has strengthened collaborations between UMMC nurses and UMSON faculty, fostering idea generation and meaningful research partnerships. Dr. Resnick has also expanded access to research funding through the UMNursing Research Grant, supporting more research projects that generate evidence to improve nursing outcomes in hospital and community settings. Dr. Resnick consistently seeks opportunities to make nursing research accessible, meaningful, and attainable for UMMC nurses, a passion that has been shared nationally through a recent manuscript highlighting UMNursing as a model to inspire other academic-practice partnerships for research."
