Faculty-staff collaboration on grant leads to podium presentation at 2026 American Association of Colleges of Nursing Doctoral Conference.
Barb Van De Castle, DNP '14, RN-BC, ACNS-BC, OCN, and Casey Jackson, MS, CCRP, director of research quality improvement and compliance, were highlighted for their work through podium acceptance at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Doctoral Education Conference, Jan. 15 in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Their presentation, "Empowering DNP Faculty: A Pilot Workshop for QI and NHSR Evaluation Skills," reflected the work they accomplished through the UMSON Dean's Teaching Scholar award to create and implement a faculty development initiative aimed at strengthening the confidence and competence of faculty who teach Doctor of Nursing Practice project courses. Attendee feedback validated industry-wide concerns in this area and inspired continuation of the work.
