Assistant professor receives the John Gladstone Award for Media Excellence.
Brittany Burch, PhD, RN, assistant professor, was awarded the the John Gladstone Award for Media Excellence by the Society for Post Acute and Long Term Care Medicine (PALTmed) at its annual conference, March 26 - 28 in Anaheim, California.
The award was created in honor of John Gladstone, PALTmed’s web administrator and producer of the organization's original podcast, who passed away in January 2022. This year’s award celebrates Burch’s achievement as a guest on the Oct. 10, 2025, "PALTtalk with JAMDA" podcast, which stood out as the most downloaded episode of 2025, at 2,003 downloads to date.
Also at the conference, Barbara Resnick, PhD ’96, RN, CRNP, FAAN, FAANP, associate dean for research; Sonya Ziporkin Gershowitz Chair in Gerontology; and University of Maryland, Baltimore Distinguished University Professor, was inducted into the inaugural PALTmed fellows class in recognition of dedication and sustained contributions to PALTmed and long-term care medicine.
