Joan Carpenter, PhD, CRNP, ACHPN, FGSA, FPCN, FAAN, has been selected to serve on the Guideline Expert Panel for the 5th Edition of the National Consensus Project Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care.
This year marks a milestone for the field. For the first time, the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care issued an open national call for panelists. More than 140 applications were received from across the country, representing pediatric and adult care, research, quality improvement, health systems, workforce development, community-based programs, payers, and policy. After a structured, multi-stage review process, 33 experts have been selected to help shape the next edition of the Guidelines.
