UMB's Dr. Jodi Frey to Deliver Keynote on Workplace Suicide Prevention at International Conference.

Dr. Jodi J. Frey, Professor, Associate Dean for Research, and Founder of the Center for Behavioral Health and Well-Being Research (BHWell) at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, will deliver a keynote address at the 31st Annual Conference of the International Society for the Improvement and Teaching of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (ISITDBT). Her presentation, "Who Helps the Helpers? Moving Workplace Suicide Prevention from Crisis Response to Prevention by Design," will take place on the morning of November 12, 2026, at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor. Drawing on more than 20 years of research in workplace behavioral health, suicide prevention, and burnout, Dr. Frey will explore how workplaces can move beyond responding to crises and instead create environments that proactively support employee mental health and well-being. The presentation will highlight research findings and offer practical strategies for preventing suicide through upstream, organizational approaches, with recommendations relevant to both workplace settings and clinicians in private practice.
