Lynn Michaelopolous, PhD, MSW, from the School of Social Work, and Laura Barrett, PharmD, from the School of Pharmacy, have been selected as fellows in the national University Psychedelic Education Program (U-PEP), a testament to their leadership in advancing ethical, evidence-based psychedelic education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. As U-PEP Faculty Fellows, Michaelopolous and Barrett will gain specialized training and resources to integrate rigorous, research-informed content on the therapeutic potential and risks of psychedelic medicines into their coursework, broadening access to high-quality education in this emerging field. Through their participation in a national network of educators dedicated to science, ethics, equity, and culturally responsive care, they will help expand critical dialogue around psychedelic-assisted therapies.
