Nancy Digby Franke and Sarah Clem

PhD Alumna, Nancy Digby Franke, and PhD Candidate, Sarah Clem, published in OMEGA-Journal of Death and Dying on Grief During and After a Juvenile Life Prison Sentence.

PhD alumna Nancy Digby Franke and PhD candidate Sarah Clem recently published an article in OMEGA—Journal of Death and Dying examining cumulative grief among individuals resentenced and released after serving life or long-term sentences imposed in childhood. Their findings reveal that the absence of spaces to process grief within carceral settings often delays mourning until after release.
