Dr. Orlando Wright, LCSW-C, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and the Division of Addiction Research & Treatment (DART), was recently appointed as the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) representative to the American Medical Association (AMA) RUC Health Care Professionals Advisory Committee.
The 13 organizations currently seated on the HCPAC represent audiologists, advanced practice registered nurses, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists, among others. All of these professions use billable codes to report the services they provide to Medicare patients independently, and they are paid for these services based on the CMS physician payment schedule.
