  • Building Access: Access to the UMSON building in Baltimore requires your UMB One Card or another form of photo identification. You must scan your One Card at the card reader at entrances (or at the guard’s desk); if you do not have your One Card, you must show your other form of photo ID to the guard.
  • AACN Graduate Nursing Student Academy: Graduate Students: Join the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) for FREE! As a member, you have access to:
    * Scholarship opportunities exclusive to members
    * Leadership and professional development opportunities to build your CV
    * Career networking and peer networking
    The GNSA provides high-value programs, services, and resources to graduate nursing students enrolled in master's and doctoral programs at AACN member schools. The GNSA is committed to supporting graduate students preparing for careers as faculty members, researchers, advanced practice registered nurses, clinical nurse leaders, policy experts, and health care administrators, among other roles.

  • AACN Government Affairs and Policy Internship: The AACN Government Affairs and Policy Internship offers an immersive experience in both health care and legislative advocacy. Two internship slots are available each session, including an in-person position and a virtual opportunity. AACN's internship provides the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the federal legislative and policy process.
    UMSON is an AACN member institution, so UMSON students are eligible.
    * Learn about issues that impact academic nursing on the federal level;
    * Attend legislative and policy hearings, briefings, and other events on Capitol Hill and within the Administration;
    * Draft letters and newsletter articles;
    * Assist with the preparation of the Fall and Spring Annual Conferences.
