Volunteers Needed for HIV and Tobacco Smoking Brain Study

Help us advance our understanding of how HIV infection or smoking affects the brain.

We are seeking volunteers for a brain MRI study.

You may be eligible if you:

1)  Are HIV positive OR negative

2) Do not currently smoke OR smoked daily in the past two years

3) Are between age 18 and 75 years old

4)  Speak English

5)  Are able to complete an MRI scan

6)  Meet other study criteria

All inquiries are welcome! Calling about the study does not obligate you to participate. Screening evaluation includes a detailed physical exam.

What procedures will be done?

  • A screening visit
  • Answer questions and complete tests to evaluate your brain function, and a brain MRI and MRS scans

Health Sciences Research Facility III, 670 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore, MD 21201

Compensation

Participants will be compensated up to $100 for their time (for completing all procedures).
