Join us on Monday, November 13, from 12:15-1:45 pm to learn about issues that will be before the Maryland General Assembly in its upcoming session, which starts in January.  Students at the UMSSW have identified, and will be tracking and advocating on an array of issues:

  • Adequate and equitable funding for public services - and, dare we dream, paid field practicum
  • Accessible and responsive health and public health measures
  • Appropropriate and humane ways to promote public safety
  • Dignity and rights for low wage workers
  • Social work licensure
  • Affordable housing

The meeting will be held via Zoom:  https://umaryland.zoom.us/j/94953178365

Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to join us to learn about these issues and how you might be involved in advocacy to support causes that are important to you.

If you have questions, please contact Adam Schneider (aschneider@ssw.umaryland.edu) and Lisa Klingenmaier (lklingenmaier@ssw.umaryland.edu)

Students, faculty, and staff, let your voice be heard!
