Nurses Educational Funds Inc. Scholarship for Leadership Applications Now Open
The mission of Nurses Educational Funds Inc. (NEF) is to promote leadership and health equity through scholarship support for professional nurses seeking master’s and doctoral degrees in nursing education, practice, service, and research. NEF has been providing scholarships to nurses in graduate nursing programs to master’s and doctoral nursing students for more than 100 years.
Specialties include but are not limited to:
- Advanced clinical care; maternal/infant and pediatrics, acute care, long-term/gerontology, mental health, anesthesia, emergency care, orthopedics, community and global health
- Nursing education, research, administration, and health policy

PAID Nursing Student Summer 2024 Externship - Johns Hopkins Medicine - Suburban Hospital
Suburban Hospital is now accepting applications for its summer 2024 externship program. Opportunities are available in the following areas: observation, oncology, medical telemetry, general surgery, trauma, neuro/ortho, intermediate care unit, and intensive care unit.
The externship is an eight-week program that begins June 3, 2024.

The University of Kansas Health System Summer 2024 Externship – Applications Now Open
The University of Kansas System (UKS) is a four-time Magnet-designated hospital and a world-class academic medical center and destination for complex care and diagnosis. Named one of America’s Best Employers for New Grads by Forbes magazine in 2023.
UKS is now accepting applications for its eight - 10-week summer externship. Eligibility criteria:
- Graduating from an accredited nursing program in winter 2024 or spring/summer 2025
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Completion of a clinical experience in an accredited nursing program
- Out-of-state students are encouraged to apply.
