Call for Applications: UMB ICTR Pilot Grant Funding Opportunities
August 18, 2023The University of Maryland, Baltimore Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) is pleased to announce two pilot grant funding opportunities:
- the UMB ICTR Accelerated Translational Incubator Pilot (ATIP) Grant Program and
- the UMB ICTR Community Engagement Research (CEnR) Pilot Grant Program.
The UMB ATIP Grant program will provide starter funds for projects specifically focused on innovative, translational research that involve multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations among faculty from the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Law, Social Work, Graduate School, UMBC, and UMCP.
The UMB CEnR Pilot Grant will provide starter funds for projects specifically focused on innovative Community-Engaged Research (CEnR). This round will test novel approaches to addressing health problems through community-engaged implementation that involve faculty from the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Law, Social Work, Graduate School, UMBC, UMCP, and UMB-community partnerships. A separate CEnR voucher award specific for developing successful and sustainable community partnerships will be released in the upcoming weeks. Learn more.
This request for proposals provides 12 months of funding (May 1, 2024 – April 30, 2025) with awards of up to $50,000 each.

The UMB ICTR is a campus-wide clinical and translational research initiative supported by the UMB campus and the University of Maryland Medical System. The UMB ICTR provides financial support as well as infrastructure, environment, training, and work force development to invigorate, facilitate, and accelerate clinical and translational research to improve patient and community health.
