UMSON Dean Yolanda Ogbolu Shares Insights on Adapting Nursing to Changing Health Care

On this episode of Virtual Face to Face, UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, will sit down with the Bill and Joanne Conway Dean of the University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON), Yolanda Ogbolu, PhD ’11, NNP, FNAP, FAAN.

In her fifth month as dean, Ogbolu is working to meet the health care needs of Marylanders with innovations in nursing education and a focus on reducing health care disparities. She will discuss:

  • What the future of nursing looks like in the community, in people’s homes, and with a reduced use of hospitals for primary care.
  • How we can overcome challenges and support faculty with continuing education.
  • How we can employ new methods of preparing tomorrow’s nurses with residency and retention programs.

Ogbolu also will discuss the future of the School of Nursing, its relationship with the community, and meeting the needs of the state of Maryland.
