As part of the University of Maryland, Baltimore's (UMB) first Diversity Strategic Planning Process, the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (OEDI) will be holding multiple listening sessions across units and schools that include faculty, staff, and students, and affinity groups based on both personal and positional identities. Your participation increases belonging and inclusion at UMB. Notes from all these meetings will help form themes and focus areas for the Diversity Strategic Plan.

This first round of listening sessions is based on the availability of volunteers to lead and take notes. Future listening sessions will address additional communities. Please be on the lookout in the Elm or check back on a weekly basis for added sessions.

Meetings will be in-person, virtual, or hybrid to try to maximize accessibility. A June 7 Diverse Gender Identities Staff and Faculty session has been added to the registration form. Register for sessions on OEDI's website.

If you are interested in leading a listening session for your community at a later date or have questions, please contact diversity@umaryland.edu.

Students, faculty, and staff, let your voice be heard!
