March 10: Deadline for Academic Nurse Educator Certification Award
February 10, 2023Full-time School of Nursing faculty who have received or renewed their National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential during the prior or current fiscal year are eligible for an award of up to $5,000 from the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Over the past four award cycles, 19 UMSON faculty have received a total of $95,000 under this program.
Nominations must be signed and submitted by the Dean. Completed nomination packages must be received by Deborah Prout, special assistant to the Dean, by March 10. Applicants are required to submit a number documents, including a copy of their NLN Testing Score Sheet/or CNE renewal of certification letter, a letter detailing their current nurse educator functions and the impact of CNE on their role, and information as to whether they attended an NLN CNE workshop or prepared independently.
