If you haven't heard, the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Sustainability is collecting plastic film and bags for a challenge by Trex. The University will receive a Trex bench if it can collect 500 pounds of plastic film and bags between July 1, 2023 and Jan. 1, 2024. There are eight locations on campus acting as drop-off sites.
To date, UMB has collected 465.49 pounds of plastic bags and film!
When dropping off material to be recycled (and to be respectful of our volunteers picking up the materials), please ensure that they are an accepted material and are clean, dry, and free of food residue.
