Nurse Educator Doctoral Grant (NEDG) for Practice and Dissertation Research
September 15, 2023Nominations are open for the Nursing Educator Dotoral Grants (NEDG) overseen by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).
Current full-time nurse faculty members enrolled in PhD, DNP, or EdD programs who are engaged in their dissertation or capstone projects during the 2023 - 2024 academic year and who will graduate within the next two years are potentially eligible. Studies may be part time or full time at a Maryland or out-of-state institution. Faculty who completed a doctoral degree as of May 1, 2022, and later may also be eligible. Payment of student loan debt and tuition are priority uses of the funds. There is a service requirement to teach full time in a Maryland nursing program for each year of the award. Note: those who have received other MHEC / NSP II faculty awards with service requirements (e.g., New Nurse Faculty Fellowship and others) must have completed this service requirement in order to apply for the NEDG.
All nominations must be made by the Dean's Office. Qualifying faculty or those with questions should contact Deborah Prout at prout@umaryland.edu promptly. All submittals for this cycle will be be made by Sept. 30.
