The University of Maryland, Baltimore Office of Sustainability has released its Fiscal Year 2023 Impact Report, summarizing its accomplishments from September 2022 through June 2023. The report details strategic plan progress, working group updates, various resources created by the Office of Sustainability, partnerships formed, and more. Milestones from FY23 include:
- Being awarded a Chesapeake Bay Trust Urban Trees Grant in July 2022.
- Receiving an honorable mention through the American Bicycle League's Bike Friendly University Designation in November 2022.
- Receiving the Arbor Day Foundation Tree Campus Higher Education designation and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources People Loving and Nurturing Trees (PLANT) Award in May 2023.
- Receiving the Maryland Green Registry Sustainability Leadership Award in June 2023.
- Partnering with Baltimore City Department of Public Works on a U.S. Department of Agriculture Compost and Food Waste Reduction Grant in February 2023.
