Bleeding out is the most common cause of preventable death after injury. R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center is taking part in a study to see if blood separated into different components (red blood cells, plasma, platelets) or bags of whole blood, given soon after arrival in the emergency department, can improve survival. This trial is Exempt From Informed Consent (EFIC). Please join our virtual community forum at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 discussing the Trauma Resuscitation with Low-Titer Group O Whole Blood or Products (TROOP) Trial to provide your valued input. All are welcome.
